Meet the Trainers
MSFC trainer with Heart — Owner Old Skool Iron
I started my bodybuilding journey at 12 years old after reading the book “Winning Bodybuilding” by champion bodybuilder Franco Columbu who was the training partner to Arnold. I had a bench and some free weights in the corner of my garage and did my best to recreate the things I learned from the book I read. At 14 I entered my first bodybuilding contest. I took dead last and felt a little embarrassed but I did not lose my love of bodybuilding. I never quit lifting and getting bigger. I learned more about my body and started training others at the age of 25. I was certified as an advanced strength training coach and started training athletes. At 29 I was talked into competing again in bodybuilding. I entered a northern California show and won my class.
Over the next few years I won every bodybuilding show I entered. But it did not give me the satisfaction I wanted. I discovered that I loved training others much more than competing. I soon started specializing in training female athletes in the bodybuilding world. I had great success and in the last 24 years I have not had an athlete place lower than 2nd.
In 2011, I opened the Old Skool Iron gym in California with my partners. The gym was a hard core place to train for bodybuilders, powerlifters and strongmen with an open door for all levels of fitness in an atmosphere of camaraderie and goal achievement.
Soon after, I moved to Boise Idaho where I opened another Old Skool Iron gym and became a National Physique Committee judge. With more clients working with me, I took many competitors that I trained to enter bodybuilding competitions. Later, I hired a new trainer for my gym who worked with a client with Multiple Sclerosis. I witnessed first-hand how this man improved and reduced his symptoms through implementing a fitness program.
I wanted to continue with training people with physical limitations but wasn’t sure how to go about it. I’m a disabled vet and know first-hand what fitness has done for me. I then met Dave and Kendra Lyons and together with their help and expertise I’m proud to announce that Old Skool Iron will be the home of the “MS Fitness Challenge” I am looking forward to serving this community and will be providing a place where Bodybuilders, Powerlifters and Strongmen competitors with heart help me and my trainers give to a community who I feel have been left out of fitness. We want to help people with MS and other “challenges’ in fitness improve the quality of their lives here at Old Skool Iron. If you would like to be involved in any way, please contact me.

In her own words, “The goals I was able to accomplish physically translated into mental strength that has helped me succeed inside and outside the gym. I became a personal trainer to help others unlock their potential and help reach their goals.”
Jennifer has studied at National Association Of Sports Medicine and has a specialization in corrective exercise which has given her the knowledge needed to help people understand the way their body moves, as well as to correct movement patterns that can lead to potential injury.
